Essence of a Vampyre
vampyres are mythological or folkloric beings who subsist by feeding on the life essence (generally in the form of blood) of living creatures, regardless of whether they are undead or a living person. Although vampyric entities have been recorded in many cultures and according to speculation by literary historian Brian Frost that the "belief in vampyres and bloodsucking demons is as old as man himself," and may go back to "prehistoric times", the term vampyre was not popularized until the early 18th century, after an influx of vampyre superstition into Western Europe from areas where vampyre legends were frequent, such as the Balkans and Eastern Europe, although local variants were also known by different names, such as vampir in Serbia and Bulgaria, vrykolakas in Greece and strigoi in Romania. This increased level of vampyre superstition in Europe led to mass hysteria and in some cases resulted in corpses actually being staked and people being accused of vampirism.
While even folkloric vampyres of the Balkans and Eastern Europe had a wide range of appearance ranging from nearly human to bloated rotting corpses, it was the success of John Polidori's 1819 The Vampyre that established the charismatic and sophisticated vampyre of fiction as it is arguably the most influential vampyre work of the early 19th century inspiring such works as Varney the vampyre and eventually Dracula.
Vampyric Traits ·
Elitist Vampyres are immortal, as usual, with the usual ways to die. But as a child vamp grows up, they grow up normally, except for with vampyric ability. They are able to go out in the sunlight, it doesn't affect them. It does, but only in certain ways, not burst into flames. The sun only weakens the vampyre, weakening their vampyric abilities and making them susceptible to human pain and torture. As a child gets older, they age normally but if they die, like car accident, disease, ect, they become immortalized at that age. Although, if you don't die before a certain age, like between 35 and 45, you stop aging and are immortalized there.
Vampyric Powers ·

Vampyric Weaknesses ·
· Blessed holy symbols: examples: crucifixes, bibles, prayer beads, repel vampyres, but only if they are blessed and the wielder has true faith. When pressed to or put close to a vampyre's skin, the item heats up, then catches fire with a white-blue flame, so hot only a few seconds contact will result in a second degree burn - any longer and it gives 3rd degree burns and can get hot enough to melt the metal of the symbol. When not touching the vampyre's flesh, the item glows a brilliant white, the glow of which hurts and damages vampyre eyes.
· Silver: it can harm them and force them to heal almost as slowly as a human, but not necessarily kill them unless they are head or heart shots. Those may be fatal especially in younger vampyres. The metal added to fresh wounds will make the scars permanent. Weapons without silver on or in them have no effect on vampyres.
· Holy water: it burns and corrodes their flesh like strong acid, leaving ugly, twisted scars of melted flesh. As soon as it touches them, their flesh starts to bubble and boil.
· Sunlight: (discussed earlier) exposure to sunlight causes them to weaken. They can walk in the light of day, but in short periods and never sunbathe. Vampyres like to stay in the shade and walk in indirect sunlight only.
· Fire, Flame: vampyres are highly combustible and will quickly burn to just ash. Flame is the only way to truly kill the rotting form of vampyre.
Most Importantly, Vampyres are alive! They are living, breathing beings. Vampyres are an evolutionary stage of human's. They breathe and they have beating hearts. Remember, these are not your typical vampires.
